The December General Meeting has been moved ahead to Thursday, December 17, 2009.

Just a reminder that you must carry your C of Q and or apprenticeship registration at all times while at work. The Ministry performs spot checks from time to time and if you don’t have it with you may be removed from the project, issued a fine or both. Your C of Q must be also be up to date.
Reminder: In order to be eligible to have the fees reimbursed for night school courses etc. you must first apply and receive approval from the Executive Board before you enroll in any course.
Scheduling for these courses is currently in the planning stages. More information to follow in the near future.
Christmas donations for the less fortunate in the form of canned or dry goods as well as cash will be collected at the union office and distributed to local charities as we have done in the past. Your donations will be very much appreciated.
All Terrain Fork Lift and Electric Counter Balance Fork Lift training courses
If you are interested please call the office and register with Tammy. For the All Terrain course we require a minimum of 12 members before
scheduling this training to be held at Local 894 facilities.
The membership at the October General Meeting initiated a discussion regarding stewards and health & safety reps not attending the General Meetings. If stewards and health & safety reps wish to enjoy the protection of being “near to last” on layoffs the members want to see them attend General Meetings. I suggest all stewards and health & safety reps pay close attention to what the members they represent are asking.
“A” members: $12.00 I.O per cap + $14.00 I.O Pension Benefit Fund + $1.00 Local dues = $27.00 per month effective January 1, 2010
Monthly Dues are due and payable on the first day of the month, not the last day.
