Brother James Horvath was acclaimed as Pension Trustee.

All Canada Progress Meeting

The membership approved sending all presently elected officers to the All Canada Progress Meeting in Quebec City, July 11-13, 2011. If any are unable to attend, alternates will be selected from the new officers elected in June (but not sworn in until July 28, 2011)

Notice of Motion (by Kristy Godfrey)

To send five (5) additional Local 894 members under the age of thirty (30) to the All Canada Progress Meeting in July 2011, for the purpose of youth representation. The five (5) members shall be selected by the Executive Board.

Notice of Motion (by Leo Hass)

To contribute $3500.00 toward Electricians Annual Harry Moran Golf Tournament to subsidize the green fees of members of Local 894.

Notice of Motion (by Randy O’Neill)

To change Local 894 Bylaw, Article VII, Section 1.
Remove the words “by 56 hours per week” and the addition of the word “maximum”

The revised Bylaw with the changes will now read as follows:
Salaries shall be:
Business Manager/Financial Secretary
-The current journeyman’s hourly rate of the Local Union plus 15% multiplied by a maximum of 44 hours per week.
Assistant Business Manager
- the current journeyman’s hourly rate of the Local Union plus 10% multiplied by a maximum of 40 hours per week.

The three Notices of Motion noted above will be voted upon by secret ballot vote at the General Meeting on May 26, 2011.

Notice of Motion re: Paintball Funding

This motion was approved by the membership at the April General Meeting by secret ballot.

Nominations for Election of Officers

Nominations for the election of officers and the nomination and election of the election judge shall take place at the General Meeting on May 26, 2011. Please see enclosed letter for additional details.
