It is with much sadness that I inform you of the passing of retired member Brother Marvin Dowdall in his 69th year. Brother Dowdall was initiated in Local 894 on February 2, 1972 and retired on March 31, 2007. He leaves us with great memories and we share the loss and sorrow with his family, relatives and friends. Brother Dowdall will be dearly missed but not forgotten by all who had the opportunity to know and work with him.

Van Bots (General Contractor) has started work on the new Automotive Wind Tunnel project at Durham College, Simcoe St. North but the electrical
contract has not been awarded yet. The information provided to me has indicated an announcement for a considerable size addition to the facilities at
Durham College Whitby Campus (trade school) is near. Lancor electric has the contract for the Loblaws project in Peterborough which is just beginning.
I have received information indicating the safe storage for Units 2 & 3 at OPG Pickering will begin soon.
