With much sadness I inform the membership of the passing of retired Brother Harold (Pat) Dooley on November 14, 2009 in his 103rd year. Brother Dooley was initiated into Local 1655 Peterborough in August 1959 and he retired in July 1981. For the past few years Pat was a resident in the Bon Aire Residence, a senior citizens home, in Cannington, ON. Over the past several years Brother Dooley has donated a substantial amount of funds to Durham College/UOIT to assist the students in the form of scholarships. We have no family or relative information to send our sincere condolences. Pat will be dearly missed but not forgotten by all who had the opportunity to know and work with him.
President Randy O’Neill has declared a vacancy on the Executive Board. Members in good standing who are interested in the position may apply in writing to the Executive Board. As per the IBEW Constitution the Executive Board shall select the member to fill the vacancy until the next regular election. Article 16, Sec.14.

Christmas donations for the less fortunate in the form of canned or dry goods as well as cash will be collected at the union office and distributed to local charities as we have done in the past. Donations will also be accepted at the Local 894 Children’s Christmas Party on December 5th. Your donations will be very much appreciated by those in need..
Members interested in a General Information course regarding Solar Photovoltaic Installations are asked to please register with Tammy. The course is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2010.
“A” members Total dues $27.00 per month
“BA” members Total dues $13.00 per month
Monthly dues are due and payable on the first day of the month, not the last.
No death benefit shall be payable upon the death of a non retired “A” member if such member is more than two (2) months in arrears.
