Notice of Motion

To purchase a sponsorship for the Special Olympics Old Timers Hockey Game
Date: March 1, 2011 @ 7:00 p.m. General Motors Centre Oshawa
Double-Rink Board Ad, Full Page Ad plus 30 tickets: $1,950.00 (General Fund)
All proceeds go towards the Special Olympics

Notice of Motion

That Local 894 sponsor the Friends of the Second Marsh 2011 Social at a cost of $5,000.00 for the purpose of having the Local 894 Political Action Committee interact and lobby with community leaders and politicians to further the goals and initiatives of Local 894. The attendees to the event are to be selected by the Political Action committee and monies to come from the General Fund.

The two Motions noted above will be voted on at the December 23, 2010 by secret ballot.

Christmas Food Drive

Local 894 is accepting dry food goods etc. and or cash in order to assist the less fortunate families at this special time of the year. All cash that is donated will go towards purchasing more food products. There are several charities that will receive these goods before Christmas Day. Your donations are extremely appreciated by the many families that benefit from this effort. If you wish to assist please contact Vice President Raye West who has been successfully organizing the Local 894 food drives for several years. I thank you in advance for your attention to this very important and necessary charity.

January 1, 2011 Monthly Dues Increase

“A “members - $13.00 to Washington + $14.00 I.O Pension + $1.00 to Local 894 ($28.00)
“BA” Members - $13.00 to Washington + $1.00 to Local 894 ($14.00)

All dues are due and payable on the 1st day of the month (not the end of the month)
All members who fall 3 or more months in arrears (this means the 1st day of the 3rd month) are required to pay a $30.00 reinstatement fee in addition to outstanding dues. All members who fall 6 months in arrears (this means the 1st day of the 6th month) will have their IBEW membership terminated.
