Defibrillator

The Motion to purchase a defibrillator for Local 894 was approved.

Notice of Motion

A motion was tabled to provide $3500.00 to organize a paintball outing for members of Local 894. $3500.00 includes the paintball gun, safety equipment, 600 paintballs, 4 hours of field play. Members will be required to pay a $30.00 fee when registering for this event which will be returned when they show up at the location. This motion will be voted on by secret ballot at the April General Meeting.

Election of Pension Trustee

Nominations for the election of one pension trustee position will take place at the April General Meeting. The election of the pension trustee will take place at the May General Meeting.

Election of Officers

Nominations for the election of officers and delegates to the International Convention will take place at the May General Meeting. After nomination s have been completed an election judge will be elected. From that point on the election judge will be in complete charge of the election process.

Article 26, Sec. 10 of the IBEW Constitution states: No member shall be nominated for office unless he is present or signifies in writing, nor shall he be eligible for any office unless he has been a member in continuous good standing at least two (2) years in the Local Union immediately prior to nomination, providing the Local Union has been in existence for this length of time.

This year the election ballot will provide for the election of the second (2nd) delegate to the International Convention and also the alternate delegate to the International Convention. The elected Business Manager/Financial Secretary shall also be a delegate to the International Convention and will state that on the ballot. Members who are candidates for other offices may also be a candidate for the 2nd delegate and the alternate delegate.

All Terrain Fork Lift Course

If interested please call Tammy to register. We will rent an All Terrain Forklift and facilitate the course at Local 894 facilities. Minimum of 12 members required.

Hearings regarding the merger have been adjourned and will continue on September 26, 27, 28 and October 3, 4, 5, 12 and 17, 2011.
